April is National Poetry Month! Celebrate by entering our poetry contest. Eligible for children and teens grades K-9th. Winning entries will receive prizes and recognition on the library’s website. See more information and entry form below!
Deadline for entries:
All entries must be postmarked, submitted, or emailed no later than April 30th, 2019. Winners will be notified by May 15th, 2019.
K-3, 4-6*, and 7-9* *Please be aware that for Divisions 4-6 and 7-9, “found” poems that take words of other published authors and are use to make a poem will not be accepted.
For each division: 1st place - $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble 2nd place - $15 gift card to Barnes & Noble 3rd place - $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble
Poems will be reviewed and selected by members of the Sea Bright Library Staff and Committee, whose members include educators in elementary, secondary, and higher education.
Poems must be submitted on the official contest entry form (available online or for download).
Entries must be written neatly or typed in English.
Poems must be 21 lines or less.
Contest is open to all children residing in Monmouth County.
Entries must be the original unpublished work of the child entering the contest.
Poems will not be returned. (Please keep your own copies!)
